  • Self-reflection is the foundation for growth
  • Good for what? What God does is always good for something/somebody
  • It’s a content thing! God is concerned about what’s in me
  • Before God stepped into the earth, the earth was shapelessness, emptiness, & darkness. This is a metaphor for the condition, state of me, the world, church, sin before God steps in
  • SHAPELESSNESS: disorder, disorganization, discord, disconnection, confusion, no structure, isolation, separation
  • Life has parameters, principles, practices

  • v  Goodness is a condition, state of being 1) BENEFICIAL 2) HELPFUL 3) USEFUL 4) PROFITABLE 5) VALUABLE 
  • v  Beneficial: anything that contributes to the improvement or advantage of a thing. What benefit do I provide to anybody?
  • Helpful: to make things easier or better, to aid or assist. It’s important to be helpful. Do I help my church? Who am I helpful to?
  • Useful: able to put in action or service. I should make myself useful in the Kingdom of God! Am I a user? I want to be useful NOT a user!
  • Am I useless? Am I useful to my church, family, community or am I out to get something for myself?
  • Profitable: that which brings a gain, to gain over expense. Do I add & multiply, or divide or subtract? Where am I in this equation?
  • Valuable: do I add value? Be an adder & a multiplier, not a divider! Have I earned my space or am I just taking up space?

  • INTERCESSION (extending myself from a far, to the benefit of another. I AM kind)

  • Patience is putting up with something, not putting off something.
  • Patience keeps us together.
  • Patience is persistence. Persistence is effort. Effort is work. Work is prayer. Patience is prayer!
  • Prayer is an action word!
  • If I’m not working on it/for it, I’m not praying on it/for it!
  • If I’m praying & not working, I’m not praying. I’m having idle conversation.

  • Patience is POWERFUL!
  • The main point of patience: increases my trust & faith in God and to fully appreciate where I am. Patience is prolonged faith
  • Patience is persistence. Patience does not give up, give out, or give in!
  • Patience is PAINFUL! I will stop catching hell when I stop playing ball with the devil
  • Patience is PRODUCTIVE! Patience produces results! Impatience short-circuits my fruitfulness
